Last month it was learned that Brandonâs own Stanley Cup Champion Joel Edmundson would have his customary day with the Stanley Cup on July 8. Plans at that time were still to be confirmed, though intent was for there to be a public open house that afternoon.
This morning the Keystone Centre confirmed details as host of the event, to take place that afternoon at the facilityâs UCT Pavillion.
Between the hours of 1 and 5pm this coming Monday the public is invited to stop by the UCT Pavilion for photos with the Cup and Edmundson. There will be no charge with folks being asked to bring their own cameras. Itâs being said that photos are on a first-come, first-serve basis and so based on that Iâd suggest it best to arrive closer to the start of that time window than the end!
A BBQ will also be hosted with food and drink available for purchase.
Edmundson and the Blues clinched the franchiseâs first Stanley Cup in a game seven victory in Boston over the Bruins on June 12. The 26-year old product of the local minor hockey system is the first Brandon-born player to win the trophy in nearly three decades.
