A quick glance at Environment Canada’s Brandon page at wake up at 7am showed a “feels like” temp of -46 when including the windchill. While it's moderated by a couple degrees since then, with an Extreme Cold Warning in place this morning and one expected to rear it’s head again tonight this is likely to be an ‘inside’ day for a lot of folks.
To help you get through to Monday’s something-of-a-warmup to more seasonal temps it appears at least a couple of our local restaurants might be engaged in a bit of a game of sign one-upmanship. The messaging on the sign in the picture attached to this post is currently up at Gondola Pizza/Keystone Motor Inn on 18th street... not long after you may have read about the little bit of fun The Dock had with their own sign this week at the expense at Mother Nature.
It’s great to see both places keeping things light at a time of the year where the weather gripes can become a little more common than others.
For what it’s worth as of the time of this posting Monday’s high temp is forecast to be -13. Is it wrong that a very small part of me would like that to hold off for just a couple more days to see what other local businesses are made of? ;)
