Yard Attendant- Permanent
The Yard Attendant will contribute to the smooth functioning of this fast-paced metal recycling business by lending a hand in many different areas. The Yard Attendant will be versatile, helpful, physically capable, and willing to jump in and identify where assistance is needed.
Expected Duties:
- Load, unload, move, and sort metal material.
- Operate some small or medium sized equipment.
- Provide customer service to drive-in customers; includes working the scale and grading metal products.
- Perform minor mechanical duties such as draining oil, operating torch.
- Complete labour tasks such as shoveling, sweeping, torching, lifting, and climbing.
- Assisting Management, Drivers, Heavy Duty Technician, and Equipment Operators as needed.
- Other duties as assigned.
Working Conditions:
- Primarily outdoors.
- Lifting heavy materials.
- This is a position that requires physical labour.
Knowledge, abilities, and experience:
- Be able to lift to 75 pounds safely.
- Physically capable of climbing, loading, unloading safely.
- Experience working in a metal yard environment is an asset.
- Experience in customer service, an asset.
Education:
- Class 5 Driver?s License
