Boundary Co-op is hiring a Full Time HABS Commodity Manager for our Home Centres in Boissevain and Deloraine, Manitoba.

What you'll do:
Reporting to the General Manager, the HABS Commodity Manager is responsible for:
- Demonstrate day-to-day behaviours and actions that align with and strengthen the Co-operative's vision, mission, values, brand and focus on safety.
- Oversee the operation of the Home & Building Solutions Commodity, including Hardware, Lumber, Gas Bar, and Liquor departments, to achieve sales, margin, expense, and profitability targets.
- Lead Department Managers to ensure effective store operations and achievement of budgeted financial goals.
- Prepare annual budgets, business plans and operational forecasts while monitoring performance and implementing corrective actions as required.
- Present business plans and operational updates to Senior Leadership and the Board of Directors.
- Analyze market trends and customer needs to develop and execute merchandising, pricing and marketing strategies.
- Support and participate in Federated Co-operatives Limited marketing programs, initiatives and operational standards.
- Coordinate local advertising and promotional activities including print, radio, social and digital campaigns.
- Monitor inventory levels and merchandising standards to maximize sales opportunities and minimize out-of-stock situations.
- Partner with leadership to develop and execute Customer Experience Management strategies and customer service standards.
- Coach, mentor and develop Department Managers and Team Members to foster a customer-centric culture and support future growth.
- Other duties as assigned.
Who you are:
You are looking for a career in Retail Leadership and have:
- Post-secondary education in Business or a related field.
- 8+ years of relevant retail experience with a focus in Home & Building Solutions or related operations.
- 4+ years of progressive leadership experience managing teams and business performance.
- Strong financial acumen with experience in budgeting, forecasting, inventory management and operational analysis.
- Proven ability to lead multiple departments and achieve sales, margin and profitability targets.
- Excellent communication, coaching and team development skills.
- Experience developing and executing merchandising, marketing and customer service initiatives.
- Ability to work independently while collaborating effectively with senior leadership and operational teams.
- You're action oriented, customer focused and work well with other Team Members.
- You're honest and trustworthy, are results-oriented and strive to be the best in what you do.
- You believe in building relationships and collaborating to deliver solutions that matter most, and you recognize the value that different perspectives bring to meet shared objectives.
