I'm looking at getting a new SS travel mug as my Timmy one has seen better days. I'm interested in the Contigo ones but after looking them over at Costco a couple weeks ago and again yesterday at Cdn tire I am interested to know how easy they are to clean. I mean the lid looks a little "detailed" and I use cream in my coffee so I'm wondering how gross that will be over time. Any body have any insight to share about your Contigo stainless steel travel mug. I'm sure they do keep the coffee hot but just wonder how easy they are to clean? Have you tried yours in the dishwasher?

We have a few. They have done fine in the dishwasher and I have also washed by hand and just let them soak in hot soapy water for a bit then wash. To my knowledge they are clean They keep coffee quite hot for a long time. The rubber ring came off the bottom of one of the lids and it still doesn't spill. We've had other mugs that leave a metal taste but this one doesn't seem to! We also like the "bubba" mugs that canadian tire sells!

I usually rinse the lids while I am washing dishes as I don't put the stainless steel part in the dishwasher. The contigo lids we have "flip" open so I flip them open and throw them in the dishwasher. No problems, no leaks or issues with them and we are a creamer household!

We've had a dozen or so over the past 3-4 years. We put both parts in the dishwasher (open side of the lid down), and we've never had any problems with them, aside from the paint coming off on the colored ones.

Their go cups are the best, expensive for a reason. Keeps coffee hot for hours. Newer ones have a spring release inside the lid for easy cleaning. Rinse every day and will last forever. Contigo also makes toddler water bottles, they are fantastic.

Just bought new ones at Costco. The lid actually flips open and you can get at every piece including the seal to clean properly.

I have a few cups. Beware of the mechanism that releases the liquid. I needed a tooth brush and a strong stream of very hot liquid to get the " gunk " out of the spout. Very gross.

Contigo bottles (both for water and coffee ones). I quite like them. Fine for top rack in dishwasher. I use a bottle brush on the spouts which works well, plus i also rinse the heck out of them.
