Need advice on this school...has anyone attended in Brandon or anywhere else? Particularly interested in the Nursing Assistant program they offer but curious if anyone has gone? What is the school like? Are the program costs overpriced? I honestly don't hear of Robertson College very often so that's why I'm wondering. I know someone who is doing a program in healthcare and he didn't even finish high school so thought that was very very odd that he wouldn't need that credential. Any help is greatly appreciated.

as part of your decision process, keep in mind that Robertson is a private vocational college, which means that the courses are not recognized by ACC or BU, so if you wanted eventually to go further in your nursing education, they will not give you any credit for your Robertson courses.

That if you apply and are hired by Hillcrest nursing home that you can get on the job training as a health care aid? Then you can go write the exam at ACC.

I suggest ACC for training, or going to hillcrest. Robertson doesn't have all the equipment.

Just a question? Don't you still have to Register at acc for "The Challenge Course" , in other words there is a cost of about $1000.00 - $1200.00 and it takes approx. 6 - 8 mos to complete . If you have add'l info on JUST writing the exam I would love the info ... Thanks

About the challenge course but if it's $1000 to write, that's a whole lot cheaper than going to school full time and trying to work part time. Someone I know went to Robertson and it cost them somewhere around $9000. They were partially subsidized by service Canada. It was a lot less at ACC but for some reason she chose Robertson.

Hi there, I am a recent grad from the HUC course at Robertsons College. I do not regret one second choosing this college to further my education. The faculty and administrative staff are amazing. Since graduating I have secured a full time job because of my HUC certificate. Yes you could go the long route of starting at a care home at the lowest wage and work many hours before you can challenge the course or take the course and start your career with some valuable knowledge and skills for the job, ( I was a HCA for 15 years as well) My best advice would be to call Amy Kilburn at the college and set up an appointment, she will be able to answer your financial questions and help you decide what direction would be better for you to take. They are a great group of people who will help you make the best decision for your situation. Hope that helps you out some
