Report: 4.3 billion barrels can be recovered from Bakken shale formation

I found this article on CNN interesting. North Dakota is now re-listed among the major top 10 oil producing US states thanks to the Bakken shale formation, the 50% increase it's had in production over the last 2 1/2 years and estimates of what lies beneath:

What makes that interesting is that a large portion of Bakken includes Saskatchewan and Southwest Manitoba. It's no secret we have oil here in Southwest MB, but some of the barrell numbers they mention sure give you an idea of the kind of untapped potential that's still out there.
Here's a link with a map that talks about and shows the area they're referring to. In it they estimate that only 300-500 million barrells of available oil have been discovered so far:
