how many children is too many?

A couple in Abbotsford, BC, have had 18 children in 20 years. How can you possibly provide for these children. I am sure they are all hard workers, as they would have to learn at a young age to help out. But, in this day and age, can you afford to feed, clothe, house, send to university 18 children? I know that not all parents will pay their childs way through university, but many do help out. I just can't imagine.
