Am I the only one wondering how viable this will be?  
 
At first I was beyond excited, it looks so cool! I’m excited that a community is trying something new. Then my spouse and I were talking about it, the safety, how cold lakes are in the summer, how it’s so dependant on weather, how expensive it would have to be to cover costs, how Winnipeg had a big recreation park with climbing walls and artificial lake and it didn’t get enough business (we couldn’t recall if it’s shut down or not).  
 
Don’t get me wrong, I absolutely love the idea and I think it’s a great tourist attraction. I’m just curious long term how it will survive. Thoughts?

We went to one just like this In Kelowna last summer and it was awesome. It was $25 per person for the whole day. I’m so excited we’re getting one close by, we’ll support it for sure

Had a chance to check out the Okanagan ones a couple years ago I think they're hitting a homerun by having something along the same lines at Dosa.  
 
As much as our splash pads are cool for younger kids in Brandon there's a real hole in here as far as outdoor water stuff. Our pools just aren't cutting it and the idea of a water park comes up a lot in discussions. I think they'll draw a lot from here and who knows maybe even Winnipeg. Like any new business the test will be after everyone's tried it and the initial excitement has played out how sustainable it is.... but with there not being anything like it for a pretty good radius I personally dont see that being a problem.

I am excited that there is finally some attempt being made to encourage tourism in Minnedosa. We have been going to that lake for more than 40 years - in the 70's and 80's when it was building up, then through the 90's and 00's when NOBODY was going there, grass wasn't being looked after, cabins were being let run down, public washrooms were deplorable, etc. Just now in the past few years the cabin area, campground and beach are back on an upswing. I've never been able to understand why the Town of Minnedosa didn't make an effort to USE that lake to attract visitors?? Yes, it's not a huge lake, so people wanting to waterski, etc might not see the lake as viable for much of that. But they have that canteen right on the water that is under utilized, playgrounds, campground, etc all right there. It's been a long time coming....perhaps it just took a change in the town of Minnedosa management/governance that has brought about some forward thinking?

You can thank our awesome EDO Chantelle Parrott and her staff for making this water park a reality. I don't know who's responsible for fixing up the washrooms etc., but it's about time for sure!!!

Just wondering if the public beachfront will still be available? We love our spontaneous (and free!) trips to the public beach during the summer.

I am also wondering if it will still be available.

Minnedosa's EDO is on record stating that the beach and swimming will still be accessible and free of charge. There will be a charge and a wrist-band system for kids who want to use the inflatable play structures.
