I'm sure a few of you are familiar with Mr. Fred Phelps and his followers, and how they make it their mission in life to picket the funerals of soldiers that were killed in the line of duty, Catholic church services, funerals of AIDS victims, gay pride events, and their most recent threat- the funeral of Tim McLean. They have been victims to acts of violence in retaliation to their picketing, and have put the family's young children at risk. It's disgusting.
They were featured in a documentary, "The Most Hated Family in America", and have been able to avoid all kinds of trouble thanks to the fact that the majority of the family are all lawyers and the only place they can really 'successfully' picket is the US of A due to the fact that everywhere else has far stricter laws on spreading their hatred - especially Canada. The last time they were here (Toronto) I do believe they were arrested pretty quick.
I really do hope they don't find their way up to Winnipeg for Tim's funeral... they have no respect for anyone of any belief other than their own, and there's no telling them that.
