Should Stephen Harper be at the Olympics?
8/7/2008 at 11:22 PM
The CBC did a feature tonight on the Olympic opening ceremonies and the fact that our Foreign Affairs Minister will be attending in place of Prime Minister Harper.
Despite the fact there was no statement indicating it was a protest and the Foreign Affairs Minister making a case that it wasn't a snub, the insinuation was that because of the magnitude of this event he should be there to represent the country.
It should be noted that Prime Ministers have not attended the last two Olympics.. but that George Bush is there.
Whether or not his not attending was motivated by frosty relations between Canada and China, do you agree with his not being there?
