Or any collection of mementoes in outdoor (?) spaces is in my mind a questionable practice. If a stranger (note the word: stranger…. family and friends grieve as they should anyway they need to, that is not my domain to intrude upon) feels so inclined to convey their oneness with a tragedy or victim/family why not give that teddy bear or flower/s (whatever the offering) to someone/someplace that will either appreciate or have need of such things, it seems a waste. What causes certain members of the public to do such things. Is it based on the amount of publicity a tragedy can generate, the degree of atrocity, that they feel compelled to be a part of it in a personal manner no matter how intrusive. . Or if they are really heartfelt why not start a fund/funding for some worthy cause that may in some way be connected to the unfortunate occurrence.
