The bus wasn’t even running yet and the entire city, their businesses, communities around it, their political representatives, their law enforcement, their churches...had all been thrown under it by eBrandon. I certainly don’t agree with the protest and the ideas behind it, but it’s hardly less honourable than many of our premature reactions and assumptions. A few posts in this discussion have added links expressing some balance and I m glad for that. I don’t know how to add a link (maybe somebody could do that for our benefit?) but an open letter from Steinbach area churches appeared on Steinbachonline.com on the 21st of November that may more accurately express the views of the community than what the one church that made all the headlines did. Most of those in the Steinbach area are just as annoyed at the protests as the rest of us. Probably more so, since they will be feeling that fallout, both in terms of Covid, and in the backlash they have been seeing, despite it not being them. I just hope those doing their part stay safe out there. Well, I hope everyone does, but more so for the vast majority doing their part.
