Moose Jaw arena going to *second* referendum

Many suggest that our city can at times be a difficult one to get major projects approved and acted on (re Canad Inns, Corral Centre, etc). In case we need a reminder of how much worse it could be, there's an example four hours West on the Trans Canada that might be of interest.
Moose Jaw direly needs a new arena. The notorious "crushed can" is at a level that puts it below many MJHL and SJHL teams in markets much smaller than Moose Jaw's 35,000 population. With Regina being less than an hour away, they suffer from a major "drain" of people that not only move to that city, but make the drive there to spend their dollars.
After increased costs and receiving a petition 4,280 signatures strong that city will now have to approve building an arena a *second* time in a second referendum. Here's the full story from Moose Jaw's paper:
