Just heard on CBC denied space for the Poppy Campaign, apparently the vets have to go thru the same process as other “charities” and apply in advance for permission. OMG! To lump the soldiers who fought, a great many of whom died, for us and our freedom in the same league as a “charity” is disgraceful and disrespectful. The spokesperson for the Poppy Campaign stated that although funds are raised for the organization thru the selling, if someone wants a poppy for free, it is given to them. It is a way for raising and maintaining the awareness of the great sacrifice made by our soldiers to protect our way of life. The Poppy Campaign should never in my opinion be “just another charity”
