Economy: Manitoba forecasted to grow 2.7% this year, 2.4% next

A refreshing forecast in the midst of the economic doom and gloom we're reading, hearing and seeing these days.
A report by the Conference Board of Canada sees Saskatchewan and Manitoba in large part avoiding the downturn that's likely to hit other parts of the country and of course our neighbours South of the 49th.

(Manitoba's economy is)...forecast to grow 2.7 per cent this year and 2.4 per cent next years thanks to its diversified economy - with agriculture benefiting from bumper wheat and barley crops, the construction sector growing strongly, and the manufacturing sector rebounding next year.
