This is sickening. How many times do we have to learn the hard way before there is zero-tolerance for bullying in EVERY school?
In my grade eleven year, a 9th grade student was bullied to the point where he had nowhere left to turn. That student committed suicide in a building near the school, and was found by a tenth grade gym class that was out cross country skiing. His family, friends, and the entire community were beyond devastated. That school has never been the same since, as students and teachers have taken it upon themselves to make their school a safer place to be.
I'd be interested to know how your childrens' schools tolerate bullying. Share your stories and frustrations.
This family should not have had to bring their daughter's troubles to the media to get a resolution out of the principal or the school division. I realize there are two sides to every coin/story, however bullying is something that should NOT have any place in any school whatsoever.
