Manitoba new car sales *up* in October

Not to create a false sense of security, but more evidence that our province is in a better positition than most when it comes to the economic storm. Per the linked article below it turns out that Manitoba is one of only two provinces (Saskatchewan) to actually have new car sales increase in the month of October:

Can anyone speak to the devil's advocate point of view that the economy has forced them to re-consider what they drive or when to upgrade their vehicle?
