Too much Prison time

Announced today: Denis Cheeseman will serve his sentence in Stony Mountain Prison.
What did this kid do? Well he helped his (older) brother in law in giving a ride to the Mountie Killer in Alberta.
His brother in law was terrified (as the Killer banged on his door)of what this psychopath might do to his family if a ride was refused. He was especially fearful of the killer coming back to hurt his family while he was at work the next day.
Brother in law and the kid were told by the killer that all the killer wanted to do was go home and burn down his grow-op so all evidence would be gone.
And, yes, they gave him a rifle....but he asked for it, and they were scared.
Now, tell me do these men really deserve 10 and 15 years in prison?
I think about the Officers' families in this situation very much, but how many more lives should this loser be allowed to ruin?
Think about what you would do.
And then think about time in Stony Mountain.
