Manitoba needs more services for abused men

Per the Toronto Star article below, there is a bit of a movement towards our province offering more to help abused men.
The article states that 14% of domestic abuse situations in Winnipeg involved men as the victims.. and that there is no agency currently offering 24 help specifically for abused men. As a result, the women's 24 hour line is receiving a lot of those phone calls.
The article then goes as far as to discuss the idea of a possible men's shelter, but questions whether or not there would be enough demand to justify funding for one.
