Flood Fears: Your stories

How many of you eBrandoners were directly affected by the flood of '97?
Are any of your family members at risk for the impending flood that may occur this year?
Did you help assist in sandbagging the properties of southern Manitobans during the flood of '97, and/or do you plan to help out this year if a state of emergency is on the horizon?
We lived in Elm Creek in 96/97, and I know the area was pretty soggy then. I was only in the forth grade, but I know the majority of the older grades had a few days off school to go and help with the efforts. We went as a family to help out some friends in battling the rising waters. I do recall some neighbors jetskiing out in the fields that year as well - was quite a sight to see.
