Canuk Army tank purchase

Tanks
Well the final choice has been made about all those tanks we bought.
100 of the suckers- the same type of miltary equipment that we wanted to get rid of earlier this decade. If memory servers we wanted to get down to a dozen or so then well maybe finally turf em!
Thats kinda like the Chinook helicopters that we sold to the Dutch we sold them now we need some because we bailed out from that end of things!
So anyways- We sold our old Copters to the Dutch but now we are buying that same capability from the US.
We were about to do the same with the tanks- purge our Army of any real tank force - but we caught ourselves early but did we buy new-nooooo we bartered and well weaseled our way into what. More tanks that we ever had. ( please do not check WWII records)
We knew that twenty of those tanks would be involved with sending back etc to replace the twenty we borrowed from the Germans
Here is what I figured out today about the other 80 .
The 100 used Tanks really is not 100 tanks nor is our miltary wise on its buys .
We borrowed From Germany 20 top of the line Tanks and were supposed to send them back.Nope- we are keepin those well used units and sending them our refurbished units. We are upgrading 200 of those used units to a top grade spec and -well we are not doing the work the Germans are and they are keeping them as a straight swap.
Then another 40 to 60 will be upgraded to a mid level - made for firepuff fights/training.( no one at this time knows who will do that work or when) They can easily be upgraded if we see fit.
What irks me they will use 12 for parts. There is a 100 tanks here- Parts should have been part of the deal. Yes we rob parts etc from units all the time but rolling parts units- how bad were those units we bought??
Six wll be converted to recovery vehicles etc.
Long term thinking is not a strong point of the miltary- we will have a bunch of tanks all ready to go just about the time we bug out.
The funny thing is- we sold our old Copters to the Dutch now we are buying their old tanks!!
