Trans Canada Trail - your thoughts

As mentioned in another thread, the federal government has given dollars to help complete the Manitoba portion of the Trans Canada trail project.
Even though Brandon kind of got screwed by not having the trail go through the city (the closest stretch goes from Spruce Woods park North through Carberry, across the Trans Canada Hwy and ends at Wellwood before starting again near Neepawa), I`m sure many Brandonites have had the opportunity to use it in other areas of the province. As someone who`s ever used (or even seen) any of it, I`m curious what peoples` thoughts are on it. How well maintained are the portions you`ve seen of it? How practical is it for longer excursions? In your opinion, when completed will it have been a worthwhile project?
