Per the Winnipeg Sun, Manitoba has reported two deaths from the H1N1 virus. One a woman in her 40s from Northern Manitoba, another a man in his 40s from the Winnipeg area.
The woman had "significant underlying health issues", the man however did not.
Chief public health officer Joel Kettner noted that there are 100 deaths every year as a result of normal seasonal influenza... while at the same time cautioning that it's way to early to know how H1N1 compares.
