Assembly of First Nations is having their elections today/tonight for Grand Chief as Phil Fontaine is no longer running for such position.
URBANNDN Reports:

The results of the third ballot of the AFN election are:
Shawn Atleo - 266 votes (50.9 per cent)
Perry Bellegarde - 265 votes (49.91 per cent)
Total votes 531 (100 per cent). Votes needed for 60 per cent majority: 319
Some of the chiefs from Atlantic Canada were saying that Bellegarde promised them he would concede if he got fewer votes than Atleo.
Bellegarde is not conceding. He spent a few moments with the Manitoba caucus before heading back into the Saskatchewan caucus room.
Voting for the fourth ballot runs from 10:00 pm until 12:00 midnite Calgary time.
With such a tight deadlock it's difficult to determine who will be the new National Chief. It will take a major shift to put one candidate ahead of the other.
