BC Transit buses on # 1
12/23/2009 at 1:00 AM
For about the last month or 2 I have seen BC City Transit buses driving from east to west daily -40 and all. Some times in pairs or threes. Sometimes singles. Many stop at A and W or the shell to fill up.
I kinda wondered. I knew they were brand new and not made by flyer industries which kinda irked me.
I talked to one driver last week during the cold snap. He was putting Methyl hydrate in the diesel tank because of the cold and wanted it to not freeze. As a aside he knew that voided the engine warranty but the cold was a issue.
Anyways he had a American accent. I asked about the bus. It was one of a 109 bought and they were driving all of them from Newyork. He did say there was some Canadian connection.
Not a hundred percent sure but Nova bus is based in Quebec and there was a sale according to the web site they run To BC of that number of buses.
They have a USA factory also.
Thats a heck of a road trip for a bus designed to run in town. They sure looked frozen. Anyways it would have been nice for Flyer to get that sale or a least the Nova buses to be made in Canada!
It probably has to do with production capacity or something. I just though FYI foe anyone who did see these critters on their travels!
