Underwater Hydro Transmission

I found this article in today's Globe & Mail very interesting. Apparently there's a power transmission project being considered that would run an underwater line from Ontario to New York City. I wonder what Selinger's stooges over at Manitoba Hydro would have to say about this after refusing to consider the option of running one down Lake Winnipeg.
