Manitoba attracts highest number of immigrants in 60+ years

The press release at the link below was just sent out by the Provincial government.
Very interesting to hear that the 13,520 immigrants that made the move to Manitoba in 2009 represents the highest number since the start of modern record-keeping in 1946.
While our changing demographics have brought with them a new and unique set of challenges, I'm a big supporter of the added ethnic diversity we've seen in our Province in recent years and look forward to a continuation of the trend provided that we continue to show a commitment toward programs that help in immigrants' transitioning to our culture and society.
