Has anyone been folowing this story? I read the book when I was in school and have followed the story through the years. I am not convinced that he committed this crime and believe in fact that he didn't.Unfortunately too much time has elapsed since his original court case and conviction for modern day forensics to be of any help.I do believe however that even during his court case there was enough evidence to cast doubt upon the crowns case and that in itself should have resulted in a not guilty in my opinion. We often hear that the suspect is considered innocent until proven guilty, if that is true why are they incarcerated? I think that he was fighting an uphill battle and was considered guilty first and the case built to prove this instead of proving wht really happened.I think it was important for the police to close this case quickly to calm the fears of parents, too bad a 14 yr old paid the price.I would be interested to hear the opinion of Deveryn Ross on this issue as he used to practice law.
