I found this news story on CBC earlier this week and I remembered an ebrandoner had posted another thread about Ian Bush from Houston B.C. who died in police custody earlier on here, so I thouhgt this may be of interest to some, maybe?

I feel for the community, of which only has a population of just over 16,000 (serves probably around 60,000 according to stats). I would find it a little odd that in 3 years (2005-2007), there has been a death of someone in police custody, every year, whether deemed to be an accident or whatever through investigation or probe.  
 
Ian Bush, October 2005: shot in the back in the head...  
 
Christopher Jickels, September 2006: became unresponsive in jail cell...  
 
(Male-identity unreleased due to notification of next of kin), August 2007: police used restraining device and man fell unconscious, later died of cardiac arrest...  
 
I post this in interest, I just find it odd that such a small community (16,000) would experience such events over 3 years.
