Canadian dollar now at $0.9704.

The dollar is getting ever closer to par with the U.S. dollar. Does anyone feel prices will also be on par or will us Canadians be heading south to make major purchases?
Is there anybody who can tell me why the prices haven't come down to even come close to matching American prices?
