Nuclear Power for Manitoba?
12/10/2007 at 2:12 PM
Was always kind of glad to be living far away from a Nuclear Power Plant. Why, I guess it aleways seemed to me to be something to be wary of, maybe because of some of the stories of leaks etc in the US and USSR etc. Maybe I'm wrong about this and may have to come to terms with the probability that one might be built at Pinawa if their mayor and others can get Manitoba Hydro to consider. The cost which would cover environment tests, building, and eventually de-commisioning and waste disposal is estimated at $6 billion. If this cost is competitive with hydro power, is it a good idea?
