If the NDP
1/26/2008 at 6:47 PM
was serious about being a party in contention they should have voted for a strong and effective(!!) leader, one who could capture the imagination of the voter that he was capable of changing things in this country for the betterment of your average Joe, many of the existing powerhouses concentrate on the moneyed elite. I’d say it was about time the prosperity gap and “privilege” differences between the classes was gone for good. All the big tax breaks and cuts, benefit the wealthy to the greatest extent: any difference to the average wage earner is minuscule. Leyton may be a great guy with loads of ethics but he is too touchy feely and can't run with the fork tongued politicos. There were 3 great NDP leaders Stephen Lewis, Ed Schreyer and Ed Broadbent, what we need is someone like them. The liberals need a Bob Rae instead of Stephan Dion, not because he’s better person, I believe Dion is superior in that area but would make a better leader.
