Has anyone heard any more about this story? The article I'm linking makes it sound like a training accident, but the last I heard on CBC radio was that it wasn't an accident and was more like he just keeled over and died.

"keeled over and died"? What a disrespectful way to refer to anyone passing, regardless of the situation.

it sounds like it happened during training, but not a training incident. Possible unknown prior medical condition?

I didn't mean to be disrespectful - what I meant to imply was that there was no obvious cause for his passing. In other words, nothing hit him, he didn't fall off of anything, etc. From what I understand, he just... well... died. There was supposed to be an autopsy performed today, but I haven't seen anything indicating what the results were.

I don't see how bringing this up for discussion is disrespectful to anyone, regardless of the career choices of the deceased or of anyone that may participate in the discussion.

I second that! As a military family and living on base I see no disrespect to this post!  
I am curious to find out what the reason for this reservist's death was.

So very, very sad for his family, friends, and brothers/sisters in arms. So young! My thoughts and prayers go out to all involved.

is disrespectful, no matter who it is referring to. I hate when people use these types of words when referring to a diseased human being. How would you feel if it was your loved one?

Jesus, "keeled" is literally a term used for when a ship capsizes, is an informal way of saying fall over, or collapse, it's synonyms are collapse, faint, pass out, black out, lose consciousness. There is literally no ill will in using that term. You guys are reading way too much into a word.  
OP, when I read the CBC article, it almost sounded to me like he might have had a prior medical condition that was undiagnosed. That would be my first guess anyways since there was no obvious cause of death.
