Building permits lower for 4th straight month

It looks like for the fourth straight month in February, the amount of building permits in Canada was down.

There are those that think this is just the beginning of the US economic situation spilling over the border.
You wouldn't know it locally with how much J & G has going on in the South-East part of our particular city...
For anyone looking at buying or selling a home, does something like this and what the doomsayers are saying play into your thought process one way or the other?
