I was just wondering about the 2015 Federal Election. Does anyone know where to vote or know how to register?
What would make voting easier?

No, I'm sure Justin is ready to run deficits (see his platform).

His ad on TV is interesting, but I'm not sold on trusting him.

As for readiness, he's not ready to get my vote. I need to see someone that has had to work for or lead something for a significant amount of time before I vote for him.

I don't like how Justin has referred to western canada in the past like its a separate country out here that he doesn't care too much for..

Especially hates western Canada's natural resource development because it raises the Canadian dollar and consequently harms eastern Canada's manufacturing and export industry, which benefits western canada none.

Don't be fooled about what turns the gears of Alberta, Saskatchewan, and SW Manitoba economy, our natural resources, primarily oil and gas.

Can't really blame him, most of his voters are in eastern Canada.

He once said that "Canada isn't doing well because its Abertans who control both the community and social-Democratic agenda."

In Justin's mind it's a east vs west competition, and its clear which side he's on.

Further, he speaks as though he can relate to the working middle class, whereas in reality Justin has never had a real full time job, apart from some temporary teaching positions.

Why do you need a real job when you have a 7 figure trust fund account, and make hundreds of thousands a year on the speaking circuit, Justin charges around $15,000 + business class airfare for each speaking event, and has made nearly $500,000 in one year doing so.

Not that I'd ever hold it against someone for making money, but they shouldn't represent themselves as understanding a class they don't belong to.

If I lived in eastern Canada, I might just be more supportive of the Liberals and Justin, but I don't.

Pretty close 3 way race, each of the parties have been dominant at one point in recent past. Whoever wins, it's a probable minority government.

I am more interested in what will happen when parliament reconvenes. I think its the end for Steve no matter who wins. Even if he gets a minority, he's out as soon as JT and TM work out their agreement. JT has said no to coalition, but is still open to a partnership. Will be interesting.

Well, as a farmer, there is absolutely no way in **** that I could vote Conservative. After all the deception, lies, and cut funding left right and center, it is obvious to me they are trying to get too much foreign investment and foreign land owners to slowly own everything. Hands down, worst government for agriculture in years (besides, what idiot appoints a farmer that went bankrupt to become the Federal Minister of Agriculture???? True intelligence there)

I havent heard if elected if Trudeau has made any promises about allowing in more Syrian refugees...and I hope he has the balls to not include this in his agenda. (Maybe he has said something, Im not sure). But, WOW. One bad picture hits the media and both Harper and Mulcair are boasting about how they will increase the amount of accepted refugees...blah blah blah. Guess what? That just made you lose my vote. They are only promising this to pull on the heart strings of people, and while it is sad, it is not our concern while voting for a leader.

Why cant those idiots running for our Prime Minister talk about what they plan to do to help OUR country and OUR people if elected. No, lets promise whatever is popular at the time, and attack each other like children on the playground. Grow the fabloobie up and get serious.

So, that leaves me with little choice as to who to vote for. Time to look at the Independents.

as a nation we are at a new low in the suitability of the party leaders hoping to become prime minister. mulcair would be hard to support, he is not a full fleged canadian citizen ( no man can serve 2 masters) as for trudeau many of us can remember his father and how far from the tree has the apple fallen, conservatives would be easier with a new leader but that did not happen. locally it would be a surprise if maguire did not win but the odour from his first nomination still lingers due to no fault of his, just the party higher ups.

Mulcair only has french citizenship because he married a woman from France. He has dedicated his life to Canadian politics, so it would be a giant leap to say that he "serves two masters".

Trudeau may have learned at the knee of his father, but that doesn't mean he is of exactly the same mind. He has spoken out on issues where his ideas are in conflict with his fathers.

If you don't like their stance on an issue that's one thing, and by all means speak your mind, but throwing out Red Herrings only derails the conversation. Speak to the issues, there is enough mud slinging going around.

Getting rid of Harper, Trudeau and Muclair and starting with 3 new leaders? I don't like any of them. Same crap, different pile. They are all good for "me" and their party, not what is good for Canada.

I'm probably going to vote Green this time because the other 3 are so bad. Lesser of the evils????

The week-end polls have him in 3rd place, not that I give a lot of credence to polls. There are still six weeks to go, and its a tight race, but yes I think he may lose this time. Even if he gets a minority, he's hooped.

I think Harper called the election far too early. The sensational headlines are drawing peoples attention away from the real issues. Duffy trial, the recession, even Uringate. During a campaign, any issue that arises puts him under greater scrutiny, and he gets the heat whether deserved or not. Now the refuge crisis has taken centre stage, which may sway voters to vote with their hearts and not their heads.

I am not placing any bets just yet.

FYI Harper never said he would increase the amount of refugees. He said the Conservative Government would stay the course with the 10,000 over the next 5 years. He has never wavered or flip flopped on this issue. And he also said the screening would be don't to make sure that the true refugees are the ones coming and not terrorists as that is how it should be.

Justin has come out publicly and wants 25,000 refugees!

Just because PMSH has not wavered or flip-flopped yet does not mean that will remain true.

Remember his strong pledges to increase transparency, allow more free votes, not appoint senators, not run deficits ?

Did he waver or flip-flop on any of those minor items ?

I love how everyone is quick to throw the blame at a governments deficit (which I am not a fan of either) but they expect the government to provide all these wonderful services too. If we want to decrease our national debt then we must be prepared to decrease our expectations of services.

anyone even cares anymore who wins. 40% of the population doesn't even vote because it doesn't matter. It's hard to believe we actually have a say when politicians have no accountability to follow through on promises made to the most vulnerable, all the while catering to private interests not representative of the masses that elected them.

If I were to vote it would be for Trudeau. He has nice hair.

Voting is the only say you got dude. And by voting I feel it gives you the right to bitch about our politics. If you don't your just another one the sheeple. My vote is completely undicided right now. I would vote green but I feel it's a waste of a vote.

On a side note. I just came from the labour day classic. And there wasn't a single pc sign I seen. A lot of liberals though

Thanks for pointing out how many refugees Trudeau promised to allow. I have not had a lot of time to research it. I pointed out the other two as I heard those on ads on TV. To me means he plans to "accept 10,000 more". That means more then normal to me. Either way, that was not my point of my rant. My point was that they are even talking about this. Let's pick whatever's in the media that will pull on people's hearts and promise this and that. Now that I know all three of them have their promises about this, all of them have lost my vote.

Like I said, we have more important things in our country that need to be addressed then crap like this

A green vote is not a wasted vote. I believe over a 100,000 voted Green last election. It is time Elizabeth and the Green Party is recognized for what they are. A viable option to the rest!

Perhaps SJK can provide the numbers about how Harper and Kenny increased the number of TFWs (temporary foreign workers) that are allowed to enter Canada. Forget about refugees escaping war, what about those coming here for our jobs?

I won't waste a vote on the Green Party. I do think it unfair to post a video of Ms. May at a press gallery dinner. They are notorious for bad jokes and questionable behaviour fueled by alcohol.

Find something that truthfully demonstrates how she behaves. After all, someone may post Harper attempting to sing Beatles tunes and then? Then it truly is ABH.

Lots of good comments on here.
Voting Conservative simply because know what to expect. Don't trust other two leaders (who have a chance of being elected)with the way things are happening throughout the World. Harper & Cons. party don't impress us either so 'lesser of 3 evils'. Think it w/b a minority gov't & we'll be heading to the polls again shortly regardless. More $$$ spent!

when you have small to large businesses across the west screaming for qualified people. What do you do. I work for one of those businesses who has had to bring in TFW because we absolutely could not find any welders or millwrights in this country that would relocate to this area. Should we have closed our doors? We offered competitive wages, an excellent benefits package, no layoffs,all in a non unionized setting!
The people you need to be upset with is the people who took advantage of the program for their own greed, not the government!
