As for walking down the street smoking a joint..... who says people don't already do that.... and do it legally. I suggest many of the people take a good read up on what is already permitted to some people. As for sitting outside the mall or a Wheat Kings game.... there are already people who do that... again.... entirely on the right side of the law. People do possess medical cards in Canada that allow this. In many Canadian cities there have been centers where people can go and taste test product, purchase product. This really isn't going to be anything new to those who are properly educated on the topic. To those who seem to be arrogant enough to be bashing the need of smoking medically or recreationally, your lack of education on marijuana is shining through. Maybe you should stick to the things you know about..... like tying your shoelaces. Again.... this has been going on for a very long time. Embrace it or not.... it will happen. " |

I didn't read one comment on this thread where someone said or even implied that medicinal marijuana users couldn't smoke in public: the threads about (non-medical) marijuana legalization, and hence one should assume all comments pertain to non medical use, whether it was specified or not.
But what is the "need" for recreational use? " |

What is the "need" for use of alcohol or cigarettes? Marijuana use recreationally is no different then any of these " |

The question was supposed to be rhetorical.
There is no "need" for any of that, there's no requirement, they're not essential in any way shape or form.
If someone tells me that they "need" (recreational)marijuana, alcohol or cigarettes, I would tell them that they have an addiction, and that they should get that dealt with.
People shouldn't be referred to as arrogant for being against the need/addiction of substances, and called uneducated.
If they like these things, or enjoy these things, that's different, that's not a "need".
