Opposition asking for Smoking ban in cars?

Our Opposition party finally asks for a ban on smoking in a car if under 12 is present. Our noble NDP says they would rather use education rather than legislation to fix the problem.
Is it possible to educate a parent stupid enough to smoke around their young children? What more can we possibly tell them about the risk they put their children? Its time to hit them in the pocketbook with fines.
