I am currently suffering from MAJOR sinus problems. I have been told there is a wait of 9 - 12 months to see the specialist. Maybe that may not be a wait for you, but for someone in pain that is a long wait.  
 
 
You really don't think our health care system is not stressed???? Really????  
Check the news or read the paper, nearly every day there is a complaint about someone waiting for surgery, or not getting proper care, falling between the cracks,etc.

I hope the refugees will feel welcome and safe here and that they do not encounter discrimination or suspicion. If everyone tried to love one another instead of fearing each other, the world would be much better off.

All you who need to feel warm and fuzzy, including J. Trudeau PM, about the refugees, put up one or two in your household for a few years, feeding them and stuff without any compensation, so the remainder who have reservations don't have to have more taxes taken out of us to pay for them. But if you end up with a terrorist or a criminal as the sponsor you also are responsible. This so you can have your warm and fuzzy feeling sitting around a campfire singing songs and can hug yourself each night.

Should all be women and children. Let them apply for there husbands and older sons later. My family members that have served are wondering why the majority of adult males not fighting for their country, instead there running and leaving behind the women and children.  
 
25000 in 1 month is also to fast to do proper screening. Taking a extra few months so people deserving of coming get in instead of economic migrants isn't asking to much.  
 

I am so sick of this politically correct society. Why don't people just stick to the facts. The fact is that every major terrorist attack in the last 15 -20 years was carried out by muslims. Before you decided to make some sarcastic comment how about you do yourself a favour and pick up a Quran and read it. You will find that it is not the religion of peace that we have all been told it is. Jihad is a core belief of the true believing muslim. Sharia law is the only way of law for the true muslim. Sharia supersedes the laws of the land. You can see thins in action now around the world. You who disagree can bury your head in the sand all you want to and when your country is in flames maybe then you will realize it. The writing is so clearly on the wall. This isn't about hate toward any group of people. This is just hard facts. Sorry if you can't handle. I just hope it isn't to late to do something about it.

Of course I'm for proper screening. I haven't read anyone saying they aren't? I'm against the idea that these screened refugees brought over by our government are something to be feared. To be hated. That we should do nothing. That all Muslims are terrorists.

I am glad you are for proper screening. You get off topic when you think this is about hating. It is about safety. If someone hold to muslim belief systems then there is reason for concern. Like I said. Pick up the Quran and do some homework. Just saying they are peaceful does not cut it.  
 
I can prove with the Bible that true christians are called to love their enemies and pray for those that percecute them.  
 
I can also prove with the Quran that muslims are called to jihad and terror actions. In their teachings the only way they are guaranteed a place in heaven is to die for the cause of Allah. Am I saying that all muslims hold to this? NO I am not. But those that follow the teachings of the Quran have justification in their eyes for their actions.

The united states has committed plenty of terrorist acts, Google cia school of the Americas, check out their alumni! Everything from assassinating Allende in Chile and installing Pinochet and his reign of murder and torture to training tortureres and terrorists around the world.

There are sections of both books where you can also find the opposite of what you have posted. You can find sections of the Bible that say to smite your enemies in the name of God, and secitons in the Quran that implore adherents to love their enemies.  
 
Anyone can find passages in either text to support their position.  
 
Canada has a history of accepting people in need. It is one of the things that make our country great. We should not allow the current Islamophobia hysteria prevent us from helping genuine Syrian refugees in need.  
 
My partner is from a refugee family. The four children in the family are now all professionals, working hard, paying their taxes and participating in society. Why would we want to keep these people out because of the name of their god ?  
 
Screen them well, and let them in. In the long term this will strengthen our country.

I would like to know who is coming into my country. Where are these people going to live? where are they going to work, how backlogged is the medical system going to become. Our own Canadian Veterans are struggling daily with VA, trying to get help, the same government seems more willing to help refugees than someone who fought for our freedom. What about our own Aboriginal community, our homeless?, our sick?, our elderly? Take care of Canadians first. Time to clean up our own backyards before we clean up someone else's.

An easy solution that would end all fear, fear of terrorists, fear of what they do, or could do. They might squeak in some terrorists posing as refugees and could very well have other methods of communicating that are out of the box, that may lure some people to join their cause.  
 
So, here's the solution. When people realize that there is no God and that religion was made up thousands of years ago, look at how peaceful the world would be. These Islamic extremists are doing these terrible things in the name of their God. Eliminate that, and all the fears from these horrible events will stop.  
 
Then, there will be no need to fear people moving from one country to another and we can welcome new people to our country to grow together as a country.

Yes. They are being screened. And there's talks of veterans affairs offices being reopened and the defense minister is talking mental health in the forces and food banks are still in operation and charities are still going. Missing indigenous women are in the news.

Where is all the money coming from for one, never mind all the others?

We used to allow approx. 250,000 immigrants a year. Of those, approx 28,000 required humanitarian support.  
 
What possible magic can happen in 5 weeks that will allow us the ability to support 25,000 unplanned extras. Do some math on the number of people that need to be screened per day.  
 
FYI! Once they land, our country provides them they same legal rights and the right to public lawyers to defend their right to stay.  
 
Any dark history will keep you out of the country during the screening, but if we screen them after they land, we will be forced to spend stacks of money to legally deport them.  
 
All in the name of a poorly planned election promise.

Trevor, you do realize that at least one of the terrorists that carried out the attacks in France was a Syrian refugee right? I think we will find that there were more then just one. This is the point of this conversation. Is it wise to rush 20,000 refugees into this country knowing that many of them wish harm. Is this wise?
