I understand that his actions were inappropriate and unnecessary but he acknowledged his mistake, publicly apologized and intends to personally apologize. What''s done is done, realistically what more can he do?  
 
Was it an accident? Assault? Should he be charged if it was like everyone else? Thoughts?

NDP made idiots of themselves by permorming a blockade to delay a vote.  
 
JT brushed by and apologized to help a whip. I''ve seen worse.  
 
He apologized. At least he manned up and apologized straight away.  
 
There was no chaos other than the opposition bringing drama. JT did the right thing within his position.

I can't even believe this incident has caused such an uproar. It is so clear that the "altercation" with the female was an accident. She needs to get over herself....good grief!

If....if in anyones little mind this is assault or should waste any resources investigating it they have never been in walmart or any retail stores during sales and have most definitely ever gone to a garage sale....I see more violence at a salad bar or dessert bar...politics

The king apolligized for an accident which was not an accident. Seems to be overdone but this seemed to be close to one off Rob Fords moments. Sammy how would you feel if you were at a meeting and someone charged across the room and grabbed your hand and elbowed a lady behind you in the chest. Needs anger management. Sad day for the sunny days that were promised. My thoughts only.

And it was a Conservative Whip that he helped, not Liberal or NDP.  
 
I really don't see any contact much less enough to cause any type of very minor injury.

I'd thank the PM for helping me get through and apologize to the woman that was accidentally bumped into. Than I'd continue on with my day and likely forget about the incident....because there was nothing memorable about it! The lady was hardly assaulted IMO  
 
It doesn't matter what Trudeau does or will do though, it seems he will always have petty people ready to critize him over even more petty incidents.  
 
There are times that I can understand why people would be upset towards another person, however this is NOT something to get upset over, it's only because it's JT that they made a big fuss about it

All I have to say is that if Ruth Brosseau, the MP who was accidentally elbowed, ever loses her seat in the House of Commons, she has a great future in professional soccer as a dive taker...

If it was Harper who elbowed somebody, he would of been forced to resign.  
 
I will admit the NDP is just is bad for over dramatizing it. Regardless, Justin's behavior was beyond unacceptable.  
 
So I guess Selfie Boy will get ribbed about it for a long time. A saying might be "Don't mess with Justin or you will get the Selfie's Elbow," lol.

Harper is more of a prorogue the parliament twice and get away with it kinda guy rather than the physical altercation type haha.

At least JT is engaged with trying to help a young Con whip in Parliament get through the NDP blockage trying to delay the vote.  
 
Harper did worse with manipulation, secrecy and being a cold fish. I'd think if it was Harper, the Cons might have said "Atta Boy, go get'em Steveo!"  
 
Having said that, I don't think Steve-o would have stepped one foot to help a young, competitive 'other' party whip get through a blocked vote when there was a ruckus.

That this is even a story is the saddest most pathetic thing I've ever seen in my life. If you watch the video it's blatantly obvious that Justin did absolutely nothing to to that whiny woman he supposedly elbowed. She should be the one apologizing, not him. Anyone with functioning eyeballs can see there's no story here. It's sad and embarrassing for our entire country that this is how our "leaders" act.

This has nothing to do with our Prime Minister going to assist a conservative.It's about the rules in Parliament. JT should not have left his seat; it was up to the Speaker to take control of the situation - that's his job. Another part of the rules is that nobody can lay hands on another in the house (unless saving a life I presume). It's sad in my opinion that the majority of posters here seem to think we / Parliament should just toss out their rules.

I don't care about the "push", the "bump" or whatever you want to call it. My concern is the reason behind this delay tactic.  
 
The liberals promised a more transparent, opened, free government and when the first bill comes to a major vote, they want to pass a LAW that would allow the government to limit the debate.  
 
THey were wanting to conduct the debate of the bill for assisted suicide in the late midnight hours. How is limiting a debate and restricting it to only late night hours showing open and transparent?  
 
This is the first major bill of the new government and if this is the way they want to run house, I hope that the Opposition pull more of these "school yard tactics" and force the government to be held to the promises they did. Don't change the rules you promised to bring back because you are feared that your bill will not pass. Just look at your timeline.

I watched the footage three times and I honestly can't say if he knew she was right behind him or that he deliberately elbowed her, not from that footage anyway. Yeah, I do have to wonder if some of the responses would be as forgiving had it been Harper instead of Trudeau. I guess we'll never know, LOL. On a serious note, I consider the 180 degree turn the Liberals have done on their promises to veterans and their attempt to ram through Electoral Reform without a nation wide referendum far more newsworthy than this story. This is just entertainment as news reporting goes. He did apologize, he's not going to be criminally charged, he's not going to resign and he shouldn't. I'll accept that it was just an accident and I'm one of his biggest critics.

That's the only word I can think of when I watch the house debates.  
Bunch of adults that act like little children. Cheering and applauding after every "statement" from any party.  
Everyone should have a good look in the mirror and shame themselves.  
Bunch of bullies and a poor example for everyone in the country.  
And that means all party's !! Voters have to get their heads out of the sand and stop defending embarrassing behavior from their "favorite" party.

the entire thing was childish, as well as all involved. Pretty ridiculous that we depend on this group of immature people to run our country. Ndp acted completely stupidly with bullying tactics. Trudeau followed suit with equally bullying childish tactics and vulgar language not becomming a country's leader. Someone got elbowed in the process .. at what point is 'enough enough' ? How much shoving, pushing,elbowing is too much? Assault? I don't think so, but would a court think so? Over dramatized? yes. Should it be allowed ? I don't believe so.  
 
If someone, lets choose Mulcair, 'accidently elbowed' the PM's wife while pushing/pulling someone through a crowd of unruly 'adults' .. should he be taken to task ? Would Trudeau and his wife accept a simply 'sorry' ?

So what DID happen: The Supreme Court has set a deadline of June 30 for parliament to pass legislation on doctor-assisted suicide.  
 
The Liberal government is trying to meeting that deadline, while both he Conservatives and NDP seem determined to prevent further debate on the issue, thereby missing the deadline date.  
 
In this instance, on being call to Chamber a number of NDP members, rather than going to their seats, gathered around the Conservative Hose leader's seat, blocking it and preventing him form getting to it - thus further delaying House business.  
 
Trudeau saw this from his seat, rose and tried to escort the Conservative House Leader to his seat. Of course there was some jostling.  
 
Trudeau should not have left his seat - he has said as much. But the over-the-top dramatics by NDP MP Ruth-Ellen Brosseau after being jostled - she acted as if she'd been shot - is the most ridiculous thing seen in the House in many years.  
 
And just think - we pay these people over $130,000 each a year. aND e k
