If large cities like Winnipeg watch this it should be an eye opener to them. The small communities build their facilities with volunteers. It is harder now with shortage of volunteers and with all the codes you need a tradesman to over see that things are built to todays standards.
We just had to redo the water system in our center. It was originally done by volunteer farmer plumbers. The whole system was done in 4 or 5 different stages as the building expanded. We had a plumber come in told us that if an inspector came in we would be shut down because the farmer plumbing was not up to code. Water safety is not something we wanted to play around with.
After reading about this program in the Brandon Sun I started watching it. It is a cute funny and educational show. He is showing how small declining towns are trying to survive. Also hoping to find a fundraiser idea that works someplace in a different part of the country that might work for our facility.
Congratulations Pilot Mound. Your facility looks awesome.
