Ya he very well could of been driving to town and then was going to get it fixed. Service guy will and do fix trucks on the side of the road all the time.
There are also ways to release locked up air brakes, you just have to be careful and know what you are doing. I''ve done it a few times. Who knows if it was even the brakes that were causing the smoke, it could of been something else on the truck.
But If DOT seen him driving down the highway smoking, he would of been in big trouble. Plus it creates a safety hazard for other drivers on the highway.
But really I don''t know what the circumstance are and really I don''t care, its isn''t and wasn''t my problem. You''d just be surprise how many guys are driving around and have no idea they have a problem with their truck or trailer, yet it''s not that hard too see there''s a problem.
