I will start by saying this. The US Election (although a United States Matter) does affect Canada. They are one of our largest allies, one of our largest trading partners and also share the largest undefended border. Ergo, this is the proper topic of discussion.  
 
That being said, I would like to know what Brandonites have to say about the upcoming 'Series Finale of America' and how they believe that it will affect all Canadians. What this can hold for our future depending on whom is elected into the White House. (That building we TOTALLY dominated in 1812 lol)  
 
Please, no torches and pitchforks, this is an open discussion which should remain peaceful and also mature in responses.

Three reasons I don't post USA election stuff on my wall:  
 
1. I am Canadian, so can't vote  
2. I have no American friends that I can influence with my propaganda.  
3. My posts won't go viral cause I'm not DiCaprio.

What sort of intelligent comment could one possible make on a gong show that we have watched from day one. The integrity of the election process as well as the integrity of the justice system has been questioned which is a very dangerous situation to promote.  
The right is split, and the left is split as well and the hate that has developed through the presidential race will only lead to a problem within congress as well as the senate.

It's almost like sitting on the edge of your seat awaiting the final outcome of a show. No election has gotten this much media attention nor built up to such a climax!

You've got to wonder what going to happen if Trump looses the election and Hilary gets in. He already says the election is rigged and he doesn't know if he's going to accept the result if he looses, what ever that means. His supporters feel the same way. They interview his supporters on the news and some of the crap they say their going to do if Hilary gets in, is crazy. There's a lot of nuts out there.

I think the goofballs (who say they should rebell) will see there aren't a bunch of goofballs in the streets with muskets, and will turn to Facebook to vent.  
Very sad state the way the while election was mud slinging and little intelligent debate. Must say our last one wasn't exactly one to be proud of either.  
When the former Republican presidents don't support Trump, or so many other party heavyweights, I find it hard to believe how close this race is.

If the results are close and Trump loses, ,he doesn't just have to accept it as a loss without a recount. That's all I take from his comment. If it's a landslide win for Hillary, then there would be no point in Donald demanding a recount.

You have to wonder ... or at least I do .... about this spectacle.  
 
Is it simply a case of deplorable disintegration of the public life and governance of what used to be a fairly good country, despite their pretensions? Or is this spectacle a case of carefully manufactured imagery and scenario manipulated by unseen sources? Random or Structured?  
 
In such a close contest(as the media tells us it is ..) if Hillary wins, then the Trump camp might complain that the election was rigged, especially if they are supported by exit polls. And then there's the conundrum of comparing (or contrasting) popular vote percentages to electoral college results.  
 
If Trump wins, then all the above still applies, in reverse. But there's the additional factor that for the time being, Democrats are still in charge, hold the reins, call the shots and have the ability to control national and international events - to their perceived advantage.  
 
It seems to be set up that nobody will be happy or satisfied with whatever results the media report. A perfect storm.  
 
Whatever happens (or appears to happen) our best hope is that Obama is able to keep it all together and under control throughout his last 8 weeks in office. That might very well be his legacy.  
 
Otherwise ....

I think there is something to be said bad & good about either of the 2 candidate .. There is a lot to be afraid of in the one who has been in the game for years and even seems to be a person of TOO MUCH KNOWLEDGE. Sometimes in life when one person has too much power & money, They tend to overlook the little things in life that mean so much to the average person not in power.  
 
On the other hand it can be very scary to think that a person who seems to validate himself by HOW MUCH MONEY HE HAS IN THE BANK,, & how over confident he comes across, All the US needs is a person with some knowledge, some humility, some common sense, and a whole lot of wanting to put the PEOPLE'S needs first & foremost over his ego. I tend to agree with the announcer who said The way you act & perform pre the elections, is exactly how you will act once you become the leader... I am so happy I am a CANADIAN......

One of the only elections were 90% of the voters are casting their vote "against" someone rather than "for" someone.

For some time now I've been planning to make time to watch the U.S. election tomorrow. I'm not much of a sports fan so this is my World Series, Super Bowl, and yada yada, all in one

I think the media has let the American people down by not giving equal coverage of the other 2 candidates in the race.  
one thing I do know, its gonna be a sad day for America if Clinton Gets elected.

I'm the kind of person who believes that no political system is perfect. The hatred shown in this campaign by ordinary people, makes me wonder if the biggest problem in the US is that the democratic capitalism system has failed. This election has divided the American people, and regardless of who wins the divide will continue to grow.  
 
The American Dream has died.

It makes me wonder how things were in the days before other "great" nations/empires had fallen. It must have been similar. All things (good or bad) end at some point and I really wonder what bad will happen, or if the hype and threats might fizzle. I hope the latter happens, but I realize that there will be some sort of residual fallout anyway. There always is.  
 
We all know that it is crazy down south. Preppers gathering to the NW of the country and preparing for "the worst". People talking guns and violence if this or that happens. They have already been having a lot of racial unrest and so on, even before the election got into full swing.  
 
Propaganda (here you see it very strong on both sides) stirs up a lot of followers who can get overly zealous. We are seeing this already, but it can still get worse.  
 
You can be sure the world is certainly watching this circus. It is like a bad movie. Many countries and groups don't like the US already. Russia certainly is watching...how can they not? China is watching and preparing for something (someone I know in China passed this on. It is all over their media)...and it is not good. They hold the financial strings to the US economy, and they have great military power. Those are both nothing to sneeze at. All are looking for cracks...and this is a big crevasse.  
 
I have talked with some of my American friends. They are not appreciating the stress this has brought on and they are truly worried about whatever the result will be and not impressed with this chaos. I said that we were not thrilled with out last election (mudslinging & all), but are still glad it was not like theirs. I could not vote for either of their candidates. I trust neither. Where is the maturity and wisdom in the leaders of today? I think it is no more.  
 
I keep thinking that if things get worse that they don't somehow take us down with them. :/  
 
Anyway, just my thoughts. I am sure I am not alone in this. We will know the outcome soon enough.
