An 11-year-old girl escaped an abduction attempt unharmed thanks to the quick work of RCMP.

Blue Hills RCMP responded quickly Tuesday night after the abduction of an 11-year-old girl from Brandon.  
 
Tara Seel tells CKLQ it happened around 5:30pm.  
 
"Police were provided a des:cription of a vehicle, and within minutes, officers had located the vehicle heading eastbound at the intersection of Highway 1 and Highway 5," said Seel.  
 
She says the girl was unharmed and taken to safety by police. She is related to one of the people in the vehicle.  
 
Officers also found open liquor and cocaine in the vehicle.  
 
27-year-old Christopher Houle of Portage la Prairie has been charged with Abduction of a Person Under 14, Possession for the Purpose of Trafficking Cocaine and Fail to Comply With a Recognizance. 22-year-old Darian Daniels of Brandon faces charges of Abduction of a Person Under 14 and Possession for the Purpose of Trafficking Cocaine. 45-year-old Timothy Garrow is charged with Unlawful Transportation of Liquor in a Motor Vehicle.

It was reported the girl was related to one of the occupants of the vehicle. Think it's important to note that, as this was a targeted abduction by a family member.

Targeted abduction. Family members with open liquor and cocaine. Sound like excellent role models. It's nice to see some names for a change as well. Good job BPS and RCMP

are normally mentioned when the Mounties press charges.

It's possible that they've held back the names here because the victim is under 14 and related to them: naming them would likely give away her identity.

The names of the three suspects were in the Brandon Sun today. The names are also in the original post.  
 
Find it kind of odd that there's no mention of the Brandon Police Services part in this incident. Brandon Police would of been the ones who responded to the abduction since it happened here in Brandon(1st and Rosser area), gathered info and then notified area RCMP detachments to be on the look out. Without the info RCMP would of never located the suspects. None the less, good work RCMP on locating the vehicle and making the arrest within a short time of the incident.
