Colony Conflict
6/5/2008 at 7:03 AM
A former Hutterite, Hillside colony member is suing her former colony for unpaid wages - claiming she worked hard on the colony for years with little monetary compensation.
Junia Waldner is suing the Colony for 14 years of unpaid wages, from age 8 to 22. She says she worked in the garden, kitchen and butcher shop. She received $3 per month. My question is, if a colony member contributes to the Colony, and receives benefits in kind while living there, should they be entitled to leave with any benefits after they no longer work there?
