Nice to see they can also be charged with driving offences. You often see them speeding, no lights on, rolling through stops signs.

Finally some justice! Now they will feel what we feel...

I'm glad I live in a country where everyone is expected to be law-abiding, including our police officers. But let's remember police officers are the "good guys".  
 
Our Brandon City Police, and other policing agencies, are out there 24 hrs a day to protect and serve. While I expect them to adhere to the highest standard of behaviour, I also support them and respect what they do. Few of us risk our lives and well-being every time we go to work. Our police officers stand between us and the "bad guys". I am grateful.

What Owl said - agree completely.

I definitely support their job and the more dangerous it seems have come. But unless they are on a high speed chase or their lights are on, there is no reason for them to drive like the rules don''t apply.

Sometimes police do need to use their discretion but we all have witnessed bad driving habits by the police for no other reason but they are human like the rest of us, so it is nice to see that when they step out of line that they also get their hands slapped as they should

I see it all the time. I make sure to report the vehicle number. Wether anything happens, who knows.

some of you shouldn't say anything bad because you do not know the whole story and be in their shoes you probably have done the same error.  
Cops are not god and you are not god either.  
Let's not forget cops do not create situations ...they show up because one made a call about an issue and they do not create and write the laws. Laws were there before they took the job.  
As one post earlier cops are there to protect you and from the bad people. If one day you are in bad situation and cops come to your rescue you sure are glad of their job and will be glad so see them.  
You should not hit on their head when you hear story of them on the news.

you are right not to be above the law but how many people break the law or rules (small or big) I would say most people do at point or another so why judge them if you are acting better.  
If someone break the law and they come to your help I am quite sure you will happy and would not care they go above the law.  
They may not be perfect (which none of us are) but they are not the bad ones so why people talk about them for what they did. Some people do bad thing or should say mistakes too so how would you like to end up in the news for that....or perhaps you were lucky and never got cut. Criminals are bad.

what I should simply say is yes some cops go or act above the law but they are not criminals but criminals do not care about any laws or not care about you because they are no laws to them, none and they will actually hurt you.  
I hear some stuff cops do and I know isn't ok and not fair actually. I am not a thief, not a drinker, never did drugs, not on the phone while driving, never had an accident nor end up in the ditch (30 years of driving) but I am a speeder and got tickets (hope I didn't get a ticket from one of those two) so here I am not trying to defend them or be on their side and I am not a cop but I look at it that real bad guys are worse and do worse.  
Before you judge someone have you broke the law yourself or never got cut! Lucky you then

Just because they're police officers doesn't mean they're free from that either.     In a lot of ways, police officers are seen as those that should behave better than we do. They are the law after all. Just saying. "

general feeling is that cops should be better then the average person, why because altho not a judge they are in fact judging you when they decided to issues you tickets or need to interact with you in any other capacity so to have cops not following the laws they expect you too is a problem
