I was watching the evening news and was astonished to hear Nanitoba Hydro's Keeyask dam project is tuning 2.2 Billion dollars, yes that's 2.2 BILLION dollars over budget. Okay I'm no accountant but do the home budgeting and wonder, how in the world do you underestimate that kind of money in a budget? And of course while being interviewed on the newscast, where is the miscalculation going to come from? Yup, us rate payers. First BiPole III and now this. I hate to say it but us Manitobans are going to be on the news like Ontario has been where they are unable to pay their utility bills!! Time to privatize before nobody can afford to turn their lights on.

I heard that on the radio today too. Awesome!! What a messed up outfit, worst part about this is NOBODY is held accountable. I can't think of a more mismanaged company on the face of the planet. They need to make some major changes to Hydro before they brake this province.

How do you expect that privatizing will help? Isn't that part of why Ontario's rates are so bad?

It certainly didn't help that our previous NDP government used Hydro's profits for their own spending for how many years? Those profits should have been left with hydro. Mismanagement of funds by the NDP is what I blame this on.
