I have been told that the Dynacare lab is leaving Brandon Clinic and moving to 6th Street Clinic at the Medical Centre. Sure glad there is a lab moving to the central area.

Is there any parking there other than on the street?

yes,there is a parking lot on the north side of the building

There was a parking lot for Western Medical before.

That parking lot is full anytime we go to see Dr. Bushidi. I can't see where all the people are going to park when they go to the lab.

isn’t that going to be convenient?!? Not!  
Going to see a doctor at the Brandon Clinic and then being able to have your bloodwork, x-rays, etc taken care of in the same building is convenient and makes sense. Moving elsewhere does not make sense. I feel sorry for those who are mobility challenged and will have to navigate the slight incline from the parking lot to the doors of the former Western Medical Clinic building. I speak from experience with having to take an elderly parent using a walker to that location for appointments.

There is a big enough demand in Brandon it would be a good idea to have a central location but keeping the existing and opening a second even if only 1-2 booths rather than the 3 at the current clinic. Would help with a lot of people who currently use the Brandon clinic especially the ones with mobility issues. With the Brandon clinic being the biggest clinic in town with 36 drs it makes sense to have a in house lab there.

There’s still a lab at the Brandon hospital still and now a lab downtown that will be convenient too. I heard them talking about extending hours also possibly. With increasing need of lab it would be great to have lab open till 6 or 7 and on Saturdays  
I think this location is a great asset for the Medical Centre Building…. Let’s not forget that the lab was there before it was Western Medical Clinic.

If the Dynacare Lab moved to the old Western Medical building extra security would be needed. I know people who see Drs in that building who do not feel safe going down there by themselves. Sad situation especially when people with issues walking have no other place to go because they cannot walk the distance into the hospital lab.

Does anyone know why the lab is leaving Brandon Clinic. I know their lease is up. Does Brandon Clinic want them to leave or can they not agree on a price?

Will Brandon Clinic then have their own lab as they did before Dynacare came along?

No. That is the one moving.

Any idea when this is supposed to happen?

Having that lab centrally located, adn if one feels uncomfortable going there, or inconvenienced by them leaving the Brandon Clinic location, they can always just dart over to the hospital to get there bloodwork done.

Was it not Dynacare at Western Medical ?  
Kinda left them high and dry after the Clinic even made a room for them when they built on Victoria !

The lab from Brandon Clinic will stay open until May 1. They are moving to 6th Street (where MINOR INJURY is) They do have parking on south side. I think it is because the lease is up and the rent is too much money therefore they are moving  
 
You can go to the HOSPITAL lab instead

Do you know if your labs are currently on dyna care requisition forms if you can take them to the hospital. I was rejected from dyna care in the clinic once when I had a hospital requisition is the reason I ask.

I go to the lab all the time and my requisites are from Souris Medical Clinic

Yes, hospital will accept requisitions. Same with XRAYS. You can go to clement instead

Get your doctor to do a new requestion as the Hospital will not accept Dyna requestions.  
 
I was at Dyna on Tuesday and they didn't have my new requestion (sent from a clinic doctor a few weeks ago) because they couldn't print from their computer so I had to go back to the doctor station and get one printed out and return to the lab. The staff at Dyna are quite nice, and seem to be good at their jobs, but I have had so many issues with their system over the years that I won't be following them to their new location.

When they forced all private labs to be under a large corporation was the beginning of the downfall of availability and service of testing.  
 
At start promises of maintaining satellite labs like one in Western Medical Clinic. Then they pulled out Dyncare decision not the clinic. Same as other satellite locations.  
 
Wanted to save money so moved to a central location. They only care about profits not patients long waiting lines or parking. Don’t care about waiting room seating either. Sometimes standing a long time.  
 
Be careful when trying to use any hospital lab as their priority are their patients which is right.  
 
Now that we are stuck with Dyncare labs.  
 
Govt needs to force them to have satellite labs.

It was the Pallister Consevative government that shut down the satlite dynacare labs not Dynacare themselves

It was way before Covid!

Major American owned private company. Taking orders from Manitoba or any government.  
 
Yeah right.  
 
Only loyalty they have is shareholders.  
 
Bottom line is only thing they are interested in

I go to the Dynacare lab every 3 months with the hospital requisition and never had a problem except once there was a test that had to be done at the hospital due to time sensitivity.

Many people have mobility issues and and they cannot just "dart over" to get tests done.

but the lab moving out stinks,went to 6 street for a test  
didnt care for the lab in the basement,i go to the drugstore there and its great,but that area is kind of rough. hey brandon clinic please bring back a lab,not so much for me but but for the elderly and disabled ,

was small when it just had Western Medical Clinic lab down there.  
 
can't imagine the lack of space for sitting / standing or room for long line-ups.  
 
sorry though Dynacare has control over all testing labs in Manitoba and many other provinces. All government way to "keep" costs down.
