Bad Balance,Nausia and Ringing in my Ears

I am a male in my 80’s.
When I walk I have bad balance, nausea and ringing in my ears some days.
Has anyone experienced this problem, and if so what can I do to fix it?

Please see your primary care provider (ie- family doctor) about this, instead of asking people on eBrandon.

I have been to several doctors over several years and none of them have helped me with any of their remedies

You might need to see another doctor if you have seen several and no help. It sounds like you might have vertigo, but please see a doctor.

Dr Thess is an ear nose, throat specialist in Portage la Prairie , who is really good. I have been to see him for vertigo and ringing in my ears and he is thorough and good. You will need a referral from your doctor.

I have actually been to that clinic in portage for cancer in my nose but saw another doctor there
I am on a waiting list as of now
Did this Dr. Theiss actually help you and if so what with?

I was given a prescription for my vertigo. It seemed to help and the vertigo did go away after a while. It's not proper for me to say what the medication was, that's up to you and your doctor.

If you have seen several doctors and they are unable to help, you need to see another one.

I've had similar problems with one of my ears, and recently saw the clinic in Portage. They referred me to the vestibular clinic in Winnipeg, so I'm on the wait list for that now. It was about a 4 month wait to see the guys in Portage.

You said you're on the wait list, so you'll just have to wait, sadly. They are usually pretty quick at the clinic considering how busy they are.

I ended up getting tubes in my ears. I still have some issues with ringing in my ears and balance, but I have found that cold air on my ears and what I eat - in particular too much dairy - also makes them worse. It’s been some trial and error with the diet to figure out what foods react, but dairy - especially sour cream - definitely affects my ears.
