Are the FAK you buy at the stores are they pretty basic ? Do you make up your own kit ?

Buy one & then add to it. That's what we did. ( actually we won it come to think of it...lol )

If you buy one from somewhere like Shoppers Drug Mart or Wal-Mart, they tend to be pretty basic..  
 
If you're looking for something a notch or two up, try somewhere like Acklands-Grainger on Pacific Ave. Places like that often supply industrial-ish type work places with their F/A kits. Lots of fun stuff in them! lol  
 
Buying everything individually if you want to beef up your basic F/A kit gets expensive quick.

Try checking out Safety Chicks on Richmond Ave east, behind United Rentals.  

Assiniboine Fire protection beside Mcdonalds on Richmond has a few different variety's in stock,seen them last week,also single items to refresh or ad too.

I work in a job where I deal with various minor (usually) injuries on a day to day basis, and I've seen this stuff work wonders.  
 
The sooner you get it on, the better.. and believe me when I say.. if you're in a situation with a burn - this stuff will be your new best friend. Cold water works well, but you may not always have any around.
